The County of Simcoe is seeking submissions from qualified and experienced vendors. Request for Proposal No. 2018R53-707-01 For: County Rd 53/5th Sideroad, CR 21 to Barrie Limit widening to four lanes Class C Environmental Assessment & Design The County of Simcoe is proposing to widen County Road 53 (5 Sideroad) from County Road 21 (Innisfil Beach Road) to the City of Barrie limit. The study area extends for a distance of approximately 2.1 km, in the Town of Innisfil. The Air Photo showing the area is attached. The improvements are to widen County Road 53 from a two (2) lane to a four (4) lane cross section, a flush asphalt median, increase capacity, improve the entrances, resurface the existing asphalt, pave shoulders, correct storm drainage problems, provide illumination and eliminate safety concerns. In addition, the County of Simcoe is proposing to improve the intersections of County Road 53 at the 9th Line. The intersection improvements include widening to a four (4) lane cross section, increase capacity, turning lanes, through lanes, curbs, illumination and storm drainage, if required.
The County is seeking consulting engineering services to carry out a topographic survey, identify property requirements, prepare the detail design, and prepare the contract specifications and drawings for both a site preparation and the intersection construction contracts. This project is classified as a Schedule C under the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment.
