The County of Simcoe is seeking submissions from qualified and experienced vendors. 

Request for Proposal No. 2017-099

For:  Public Transit Operations & Maintenance

The County of Simcoe is requesting proposals for the operation and maintenance of a public transit system utilizing a County owned transit fleet.

The initial transit system includes four (4) conventional transit buses and two (2) specialized transit mini-buses (for the transportation of persons with disabilities) in the Penetanguishene/Midland to Barrie corridor. Services are anticipated to begin on August 7, 2018 with four (4) additional routes to be implemented in 2019, 2020, and 2021.  It is expected the eventual total fleet will be comprised of 18 conventional transit buses and seven (7) specialized transit mini-buses by 2021.

Of the four (4) conventional transit buses to be operated in the Penetanguishene/Midland to Barrie corridor, three (3) are in-service buses with one (1) spare.  Likewise, one (1) of the specialized transit buses is an in-service bus and one is a spare.  The additional buses to be acquired by 2021 will be a combination of in-service buses and spares.
