The County of Simcoe is seeking submissions from qualified and experienced vendors. Request for Proposal No. 2018R93-893-01 For: Design of Multi-Use Trail & Roundabout Construction - County Road 93 The County of Simcoe, in partnership with the Town of Midland and the Town of Penetanguishene, initiated a Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) to identify a complete street design, within the context of the existing and planned future urban and rural environments along County Road 93, to support alternative modes of travel including pedestrians, cyclists, transit, motor vehicles and freight. C.C. Tatham and Associates Ltd. were retained to complete the study on behalf of the County, in accordance with the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment guidelines. Following completion of the Class EA, the preferred improvements include: -Section A: Highway 12 to Yonge Street - provide 1.5 metre paved shoulders on both sides of the road -Section C: St. Andrews Drive to Thompsons Road - provide a 3 metre multi-use trail on the east side of the road, separate from the road where not otherwise constrained -A two lane, 60.0 metre diameter, roundabout at County Road 93 – Golf Link Road/Vinden Street. The County of Simcoe is seeking consulting engineering services to undertake a geotechnical investigation, carry out a topographic survey, identify any property requirements, prepare the detail design, identify and coordinate utility relocations, and prepare the contract specifications and drawings for the site preparation, multi-use trail construction and intersection construction contracts for the County Road 93 corridor, from the limit at Hwy. 12 north through the Town of Midland to the limit of the Town of Penetanguishene. A total distance of approximately 5.9 kilometres.
